BJP Attacks UP Government For Power Crisis

UP Bhartiya Janta Party on Monday launched a scathing attack on Samaj Wadi party for acute power crisis in the state.Light to moderate rainfall lashed parts of Uttar Pradesh on Monday even as there was not much change in the temperature. The areas that received rainfall included Robertganj and Churk in Sonbhadra district, Handia in Allahabad district, Baheri in Bareilly district and Phoolpur in Azamgarh district. The power scenario in Uttar Pradesh continues to be grim as the residents of capital city protested the erratic power supply and took to the streets to vent their anger.

Uttar Pradesh, which is facing power shortages, is looking to purchase 500 MW electricity on short term basis in order to address the problem.The Centre has come down heavily on Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh over the issue of power crisis in the state and asked the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister to stop coming up with excuses and rise above petty politics.
Keeping up its offensive over long power outages and water crisis in the national capital, Congress on Sunday held a protest in Karol Bagh area of central Delhi and demanded immediate intervention of the Centre to address the problems.
